Last Blog Post!

Happy Summer vacation! You all have been such a blessing and we are so blessed by each one of you! Anna and I are sad to be wrapping up such a great year! I hope you have a relaxing summer vacation!

Summer Work: Keep up reading, writing, and doing math over the summer. Kids loose a lot over the Summer months so it is so important to keep things fresh!!! Let me know how I can help, I am more than willing to send ideas if you need more to work on! A few ideas..

- Summer math packet
- Reading A-Z / any book, I included their level on their report card.
- Writing in journals. Work on blends, punctuation, spaces, etc.

Last Day Info:
School is out at 11:30. Please WALK UP to get your child! We have a lot of kids who want pictures and it seems to work best if we have all parents walk up to get their child! You may feel free to come any time between 11:00-11:30! We will be playing in our back playscape! You do not need to send a backpack, just a snack and water is great!!

Report Cards:
Report cards are being sent home today!

Summer Play dates:
We are planning to spend some Friday mornings at the HC Forest School campus and at Saugatuck this summer. I'd love to extend an invite to any KG or 1st grade families (1st or 2nd during 24/25 academic year) so that Gus and Clayton can see some friends over the summer! Would you be willing to include this in your blogs or weekly email updates and pass along to the other Kindergarten and 1st grade teachers as well?

UPCOMING: No School Monday, May 27th---Graduation Thursday, May 30th 5:30pm

Laugh out loud moment this week... As we hike along we find so many amazing playscape that it can be difficult to choose where to camp out. We will often take votes, both for playscapes as well as paths to follow. As we ate lunch Wednesday, one budding politician decided to call a vote for playing by a stream we had passed. "Raise a stick if your vote is to play by the stream!" He then collected and handed out sticks to every available hand that would accept it. We did have a campaign and brave canidate for an alternative vote, but very few Forest Kids can turn down accepting a stick when offered one! Love adventuring with your kids!
