- I just realized I scheduled parent teaching conferences on this date. If your time is cutting it too close, I can switch the times around. Just let me know what day works for you! I am happy to stay after/ before school and meet as well!

Homework: Thank you for sending math packets back in! If your child does not turn one in we have them complete one in the woods. It should be easy for the kids! If they are struggling and you are looking for ways to help, please reach out! Math packets will be sent home on Monday and returned on Fridays. I attached our letter report. We keep seeing so much improvement it is so much fun to watch this group of kids start to read. We added a few new math concepts to the sheet this week. Counting to 100 and recognizing numbers 1-20.

Picture Retakes:
Picture retakes are October 9. Please let me know if your child will be needing these! Picture packets are in your Childs backpack today!

Book bags: Please make sure to return books and book bags every day. You may notice the level of your Childs book changing based on where they are at as a reader. We will be switching groups around soon so if your child has a few repeat books that is okay! We hope to get reading groups finalized soon

Post Family Farm: We will be going on our fall field trip October 11. If you could please send $6.50 with your child in a bag or an envelope with their name on it by October 6 that would be great!

Morning Drop Off: If you could please start to encourage your kiddos to do their morning steps on their own it will help us out a lot in the afternoon. We are finding kids who don't pack their own go bags aren't able to uppack them either.. those who don't put their snack in the snack bag aren't able to put them away etc.. A great way to encourage this is to either drop them at the circle drive or walk them to the classroom and wait outside until they are done with their steps! I know for some kids this is a big transition and will take some time! This helps build independence!! Drop off is from 8:10-8:20, if you are early we ask that children drop their bags outside and play with whatever teacher is in charge of morning kids for the day!

Homecoming:

Today, September 15th from 5-6:30 pm Kickoff is 7:00 pm. Our Homecoming event includes dinner, bounce houses and inflatables

We have added a column for recognizing numbers 1-10 it will either say yes or no. If no, please work on numbers 1-10 with them! We hope to to have all kids know letters/ sounds by October 1! What to work on..
1. letters/sounds
2. letter speed
3. CVC
4. reading books
5. Numbers 1-10

Shoes/clothing: Please make sure you are sending your child in appropriate forest school shoes. As the weather changes, having an extra pair of socks in their backpack is a great idea! We are also noticing as the mornings are getting colder a jacket would be awesome!! Please check the weather before sending your child :)

Oakie: It is about that time of year where we may need our oaki suits. If you could please send it to school. We will leave them at school until October break or if they need to be washed. They say to wash them with no detergent and not to dry them to keep them waterproof!

Forest school T-short form:

Are you ready to showcase your HC Forest School pride? Do you dream of a cozy sweatshirt for the upcoming fall season? Well, we have the perfect fundraiser just for you!

We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Good Ink for an exclusive t-shirt and sweatshirt fundraiser. Good Ink has teamed up with Holland Christian to design apparel that proudly represents HC Forest School. The funds raised through this initiative will contribute to essential projects on our campus, including the construction of storage sheds for learning materials and the establishment of an additional little library!

Here's how your support will make a difference:

Storage Sheds: The funds raised will be directed towards building much-needed storage sheds. These sheds will serve as a vital resource for our K-5 Forest School program, enabling us to provide children with easy access to a wide range of learning materials on a daily basis. From books and writing materials to loose parts and sleds, these sheds will house everything needed to enrich the educational experience of our students.

To participate and place your order, simply click the link below:

Online Store Link

Our online store will be open throughout the entire month of September, so you have plenty of time to secure your Forest School apparel for the season ahead!

Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to HC Forest School. Your participation in this fundraiser will help us create a more enriching and engaging learning environment for our students.

Let's come together as a community to wear our HC pride and make a positive impact on our Forest School campus!

Walk-a-thon: Walk-a-thon packets were sent home with your child today.

Letter Report: I have attached our letter report in our email. Please keep working with your child at home. We love to see all the growth from each child. If your child has anything bolded that means they did not improve or learn their 3 letters this week. It was a short week, but we would love for kids to improve each week!
