 Upcoming Dates and Reminders: 

THANK YOU: Thank you all SO much for the beautiful baby shower last week! Baby DeWitt got so spoiled and we are so blessed to have such an amazing village cheering us on! Thank you for your thoughtful gift, the stroller is perfect! I loved all the books and notes from the kids! Thank you to whoever headed this up and made this special event happen! 

January 31: Due to the weather, we will be cancelling our sledding on Jan 31.. We hope to find another day to invite families to sled with us! 

Maternity Leave: I will be sending an email soon with our sub for maternity leave! I am planning on working up until the day I have baby :) 

Wacky Week: 

Forest Kids, get ready for some wackiness coming after Christmas Break! Wacky Wednesdays are back, starting January 17! The class with the highest percentage of participation each week will earn a class party.

January 31 - Neon/Tie Dye Day - S’more Party Prize

February 7 - PJ Day - Pizza Party Prize

Spring Program: 

Please mark your calendar! Our spring program will be held at Christ Memorial the evening of March 14! Students from South Side, Pine Ridge, and Forest School will be leading a special evening of worship. Parents/Grandparents/Friends are invited to join!

CAMO/CAMPER DAY: TOMORROW!! Wear your camouflage/camper clothing tomorrow due to the snow day Wednesday! 

Valentines Day: We will be passing out valentines on February 14! Here is a list of all the students in our class if your child wants to write who they are to on them!

Red Words: I have attached our first set of Red Words to the email! These are the words your child will need to know how to read AND write! We have a second set coming soon! 

January 31: We are headed to VanRaalte to go sledding! You are all invited! This will be a fun afternoon, you can take siblings along as well! Pack your favorite sled and join us from 12-1:30! Some kids wear ski helmets as there are a lot of kids and collisions happen! This is up to you and your family!

Parent Volunteers: Attached is a sign up for reading volunteers for second semester! If you would like to keep the day you were previously doing please write your name on that day! Every other week is great too!  It is from 2:30-3:10 ish. Let me know if you have questions!

Report Cards: Report cards will be going home next week! We will discuss details at conferences! 

MAP testing: We are done with our MAP testing and do not need headphones anymore! You can keep them home until spring! Thanks for sending them! 

Slippers: It is a great time to have slippers for inside shoes. With cold feet it is nice to have warm slippers to leave at school for inside time! 

Gym Shoes: With the wet days Mr Kool is asking that the kids bring indoor tennis shoes on gym days. We have a bin that we keep them in if you prefer to just leave a pair at school. If not, be sure to send them with your child on Thursdays! 

January 15: No school for MLK day Monday January 15!
