 Upcoming Dates and Reminders: 

Merry Christmas!!!! I hope you all have a relaxing Christmas break! We are so thankful for all of you and the partnership with your families! Thank you for all the generous Christmas gifts! You are all such a gift! 

PJ DAY! Pj day tomorrow for our movie and party!! 

Book Exchange: If you have not sent a book for our book exchange tomorrow please make sure to send it tomorrow! 

Parent Teacher Conferences: 

Due to baby coming early March I will be doing all parent teacher conferences for second semester in January. If you feel like you want to wait until March/ April I can always offer a phone call or an in person conference later in the spring. If I feel there is a need I will reach out as well! January is a great time to have a conference as it will be right after running records and MAP testing! Here is the link to sign up!

Reading A-Z 

Our Sumer reading program is on the IPADS. I have this set up if you would like to dive in over Christmas break that would be awesome! We have running records right after break so the more reading the stronger reader your child will be.

step 1: Download app 

step 2: teacher username mdewitt32 

step 3: click on your Childs name 

step 4: enter your Childs hook number as their password. It needs to be 2 numbers so if they are #6 it is 06 etc. 

Step 5: click on reading room and start reading! 

I like to reward the top 2 kids who do the most reading over break with a trip to ice cream and barnes and noble to pick a book. I can see the minutes each child reads on my end! This may be some incentive for them to read:) 

Snow Gear: With winter months here we will be sending snow suits home on Fridays! If the snowsuit is sent home throughout the week it means our day got busy or it was too cold to stand in pick up line without them! Please just send them back the next day if they are sent home mid week! Thank you!! 

Wacky Week: 

Forest Kids, get ready for some wackiness coming after Christmas Break! Wacky Wednesdays are back, starting January 17! The class with the highest percentage of participation each week will earn a class party.

January 17 - Camo/Camper Day - Popcorn Party

January 24 - Favorite Team Day - Hot Cocoa Party

January 31 - Neon/Tie Dye Day - S’more Party Prize

February 7 - PJ Day - Pizza Party Prize

CHANGE OF DATE CHAPEL:

Ms Anna was on the chapel schedule for January 8th, we will be changing this date to MARCH 20. Please note this change!!!!

Christmas Party: 

We are excited for a fun party next Friday! Please remember to send a children's book (girls bring a girl book, boys bring boy) for our book exchange. Please wrap this and label "boy from your Childs name" or "girl and your childs name." These can be brought in anytime. We will start a pile of them so we make sure we have them for Friday! 

Math: Please let me know if your child is struggling with the new math being sent home! I am more than happy to help! Most are doing amazing and ready for the challenge!

Gym Shoes: Now that it is wet and muddy Mr. Kool is requiring all kids to have a pair of gym shoes. We have a bin of them at school if you are willing to leave them here! If not, we will need them every Thursday! The easiest way is to leave a pair at school so we have them ready for them!! Thank you! 

Christmas Party: Our class Christmas party is December 22nd! We are excited to celebrate with the kids! 

Let heaven and Nature Sing: Our Forest school event is Thursday the 14th at 6:00. We look forward to a fun night! 

New Math: We are sending home a new math packet with new math problems on Monday! Here is a how to video if your child is struggling!

Donations: 

We have a sister in Christ who teaches kindergarten in the outdoor program at New Holland Elementary. She is trying to collect much needed outdoor gear for her students so that they can continue learning outside during the winter. 

New and/or used hats, waterproof gloves and snow gear from size 5 up to 10 is needed to help more children explore Creation. There will be bins in each classroom from December 6-13th. If you have any items to donate, they will be a great blessing to her and her students! Thank you so much for sharing the love of Jesus in this practical way!

Christmas Stocking/ party donations: If you have any Christmas donations or donations for stockings please send them in! (unless they need to be kept fresh until the day of) Thank you for all the donations! We will be opening a fun gift in our stocking every day until Christmas break. The kids are loving it!

Snow Gear: We have found that the best way to go about all our snow gear is to leave it at school and send it home on Fridays to wash/ use! If this does not work and you need it home daily please let me know! If our day gets busy and we send them home mid week, please make sure to send them back the next day!

Our parent board is finalizing AMAZING plans for our first annual And Heaven and NatureSing event for your family! We hope you can join us for an evening in the Forest with your family from 6:00-7:30pm on Thursday, December 14! We have a special craft planned for your children, a nighttime hike through Luke 2 and Christmas caroling around the campfire! In order for us to have enough materials for our crafts and hot chocolate to keep you warm, would you kindly RSVP for this event by Monday, December 4? Please RSVP using this form
